Boy, oh boy — what a Saturday (04/14/12) this was in Chicago. This was the city’s 3rd hosting of the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) at McCormick Place. At it’s core, it is a comic book convention – where people and vendors from all over converge onto Chicago for three days of fun, costuming, autographs, talk panels, video screenings and more.
This was my first year where I said to myself “I want to go see this person. I don’t know when I might see him again.” I did have the chance to see some celebs last year, but their panel was very late into the day, and I was pooped out, so I wasn’t able to see them. But this year was different. I did have two people I wanted to see: John Barrowman (Doctor Who and Torchwood) and Anthony Daniels (who you may also know as C3PO from the Star Wars Saga); however, John was the lucky winner to get me!
As with any comic convention, you also take time to walk around the show floor, check out the major companies, what they have going on, scope out any comic books you might need, maybe head over the Artist Alley and meet that artist of the special book you may read.
Below are clips from John Barrowman – he’s quite the “card” and geek as well.
