Los Gatos 2011: Arrival

Posted: June 22, 2011 at 10:00 pm

Finally! After 4+ hours cooped up on my Southwest plane and stewing because the person who sat next to me couldn’t use any of the other middle seats in the rows ahead of us, we finally landed at San Francisco on a bright, sunny day!

After de-boarding the plane, I decided to jump into the gift store to buy some See’s Candies to celebrate and start my long-awaited vacation! Bought two boxes – didn’t know who was going to eat them, but what the hell, after what I had been through in the last 24 hours, I was due for some comfort candy.

After exiting the gate areas to the baggage claim  – I then received a pleasant surprise, Robert met me right outside the are! Although we were going to meet at the baggage area, even this was special because of everything that had happened to me.

We retrieved my checked bag and we were then on our way jack to Los Gatos/San Jose. For those that don’t know – its only about an hour drive back – so not really bad if you need to fly in through San Francisco.

Our first port of call was lunch. We decided to give our regular place, Pedro’s, another chance to see if service had improved from last year. Let’s just say, it was really busy for lunch time, and things got off to rocky start, but eventually it smoothed out. I’m not too demanding, all I ask is that you keep the water and soda glasses filled without me having to hunt down the server!

Onto now a quick trip to Cupertino to visit the Apple Mothership — the Apple Campus where it all happens. We always like to drop into the store to look around to see what they have. Its the only store where you purchase clothing as well as software or items for your iPod/iPad.

We rounded out the evening by going to see Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with Sarah, Robert’s aunt. I’m really happy she was able to make the time – she’s a real busy gal and I respect that, too! We all had fun for sure!

    “outside the are!”

Proof that you shouldn’t drink beer and blog at the same time. :)
